The electoral calendar was opened in black river, in what is one more chapter of the long year with elections that Argentines will have. This Sunday are the elections general rockthe second most populous city in the province, where a new mayor, councilors and members of the local Court of Auditors.

With an electoral list of 84,496 people qualified to vote, this time 11 lists are presented, but the candidates for mayor are six in number, since there are collectors. That is, more than one ballot has the same political leader as the main candidate.

the local mayor, Maria Emilia Soriaone of the six candidates for the municipality, is putting her re-election on the line with the seal of “The passion for rock”. Another of the lists, which bears the name “The Pride of Rock”proposes to the former Minister of Production and Provincial Agrifood Carlos Banacloyrepresentative of the provincial force Somos Río Negro, which leads the province.

A third list is “Change General Roca” which has the support of the PRO and the Civic Coalition, and which promotes Gaston Sotoa businessman who is doing his first experience in partisan politics and who presents himself as a competitive third option in the municipal sphere.

Soto also added to his candidacy sectors of radicality that did not agree with the largest fringe of his party, which entered into an alliance with the former governor, current national senator and political leader of Somos Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck.

For its part, Banacloy has the support of the ballot papers of the Radical Civic Unionthe Popular Movement of Patagonia, the Movement of Democratic Opening, Redes and Nuevo Encuentro, which is why his name also appears on these lists.

Meanwhile, the Frente Somos Unidad Popular y Social has as a candidate for mario alvarez; the Left Front of Workers’ Unity, Alberto Castro; and the New MAS, at Elena Correa.

In this way they are 11 parties and alliances that compulsory for the maximum post of the Municipal Executive Power, eight seats in the Deliberative Council and three seats in the Court of Auditors.

According to provincial sources, around 3:00 p.m., 60% of the electoral lists distributed in the 33 establishments that were prepared for the hot day of this Sunday had already voted.

The election to General Roca will be the first general so far this year. The provincial elections will take place on April 16 and there the current president Arabela Carrera will try to specify her re-election, and extend in time the supremacy of Juntos Somos Río Negro to the command of the province.
