This Tuesday, February 28, the fertile markets. The demonstrations will begin around 9:00 am in different cities of the national territory.

The National Federation of Educators will take to the streets with the aim of demanding various things from the national government. The main thing is the dignity of the teaching job and more budget for education.

In the list of petitions they published that Colombian teachers will demonstrate for, the teachers include six specific themes.

Fecode primarily requires that public education be protected. In the second case, they walk for the dignity of the profession teacher; for the defense of teacher health and Fomag; for the reform of General participation system; due to the thaw list of law 1278 and for the execution and concretization of the signed agreements.

“On the occasion of the deposit of the specifications approved by the national council and the demand that the government comply with what has been agreed, a great national mobilization is called, both in Bogotá and in the capitals, supporting which has been defined by the council, ”he announced to the Federation a few days ago.

In Bogotá, the Fecode marches will begin at the headquarters of the Government of Cundinamarca at 9:00 a.m. and will go to the Ministry of Education.

On the other hand, another march should start on Avenida Jiménez with carrera 7 and head towards the Colombian Presidency. This mobilization would begin at 10:00 a.m. This group aims to file the State Framework Document and the documents of the sector, as explained by the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores.

Although the latter is not an exclusive protest of teachers, but in general of workers in Colombia and especially in the public sector, Fecode also supports the initiative.

Although the demonstrations will also take place in other cities and municipalities, the National Federation of Educators assured a few days ago that the tours and sit-ins will take place in accordance with the directives of the affiliated unions.

It should be remembered that on Monday, February 27 precisely, the departure of the Minister of Education, Alejandro Gaviria, was announced.

Specifically, after a presidential speech in which the departure of the three ministers was signaled, Gaviria changed the biography of his Twitter profile to: “Democratic reformer. Defender of freedom of expression. Now I’m a minister.”
