The Swedish police have shot dead an individual who had allegedly threatened officers with an unspecified weapon in the capital, Stockholm, according to the authorities.
According to the police version, the man posed a serious threat when he was being detained by officers in the Grimsta neighborhood, a western suburb of the city.
The situation forced the agents to open fire, according to a statement issued this past Saturday. The man, between 60 and 70 years old, was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
The exact circumstances that led the man to confront the police are unknown.
