SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Keldon Johnson scored 23 points and the San Antonio Spurs overcame Nikola Jokic’s triple-double to beat the Denver Nuggets 128-120 on Friday night.

Doug McDermott added 20 points and Jeremy Sochan scored 19 for San Antonio, who shot 54% in a balanced performance on a night when they had their entire roster available, a rarity in an injury-plagued season.

Jokic had 37 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to hit 26 triple-doubles this season, which may well be his third straight NBA Most Valuable Player name.

Jamal Murray added 24 points for Denver, which suffered its second straight loss after a four-game winning streak. The Nuggets held the best record in the Western Conference, at 46-21, but trailed the Milwaukee Bucks by 2½ games for the league’s best team.
