CIA Director William Burns met with the Taliban political leader in Kabul amid efforts to coordinate the evacuation, an official source reveals.
The official told the AP that the meeting between Burns and Abdul Ghani Baradar took place in the middle of the evacuation operation at the Kabul airport.
The Washington Post was the first to report the news. The source confirmed the version, asking not to be identified because she was not authorized to speak about the matter publicly.
