At Roazhon Park, Shakhtar went further and qualified for the round of 16 with a 4-5 win over Stade Rennes. Definition came from 12 stages with goals from Yehor Nazaryna, Heorhii Sudakov, Artem Bondarenko, Yukhym Konoplia and Kevin Kelsy, although Valeriy Bondar and Danylo Sikan missed. In the home side, Jeremy Doku, Birger Meling and Lesley Ugochukwu failed to convert, while Désiré Doué, Amine Gouiri, Flavien Tait and Warmed Omari hit their shots.

Jeremy Doku put in an excellent performance. The Stade Rennes midfielder because he was incited to kick 5 times.

Despite losing the first leg, Shakhtar eliminated Stade Rennes on penalties and qualified for the knockout stages of the 2022-2023 Europa League.
