After launching his new party with Jorge Robledo, Dignity and commitmentformer presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo had an interview with GlobeLiveMedia colombiain which he launched strong criticisms of the government of Gustavo Petro and refers, among other topics, to health reform.
Sergio Fajardo once again criticized Total Peace by Gustavo Petro: “We are witnessing a monumental disorder”
The former presidential candidate admitted he wanted the process to go well, but was pessimistic about it.
He claimed it’s “chaos” and it’s unclear how it was discussed. Moreover, he criticized the fact that the text was not presented in time, and that when it was presented, it turned out to be “very confusing and does not help to clarify the reforms that are supposed to be made “.
However, he acknowledged that “it has valuable aspects”, such as primary health care, and admitted that “actually I agree with a lot of things that need to be done”, but he felt that it was presented in a very haphazard manner, that it has no clarity or financial viability.
“There’s no organized way, it’s a mess, there’s no common thread. Nor the financial viability of what’s on offer. There are a lot of elements that are chaotic and don’t not show if you want to end this system, how far you want to go, ”said the former mayor of Medellín.
It should be remembered that last week a new controversy erupted around health reform, when a 17-page document was published in which some members of President Petro’s cabinet (Alejandro Gaviria, José Antonio Ocampo and Cecilia López), as well as the director of the Department of National Planning, Jorge Iván González, express their concerns about the reform and claim that it is economically unfeasible.
Sergio Fajardo on dignity and commitment: “Of course you get a lot of likes saying ‘hijuetantas’, but I think that’s totally wrong”
Sergio Fajardo said ‘a lot of nasty things happened’ which led to Coalition Centro Esperanza’s ‘failure’ but lessons have been learned and now things will be done right
On the other hand, Fajardo admitted that he agrees with the tax reform. “I think above all it was necessary and it’s good for Colombia,” he said. “Jorge Robledo thinks differently and that doesn’t make us enemies and we are in the same party,” he also added.
In this sense, he said that the Minister of Finance, Jose Antonio Ocampowas “fundamental” in government, “because he is a person who knows, because he has experience, because he has authority and because he has respectability” and added that “for President Petro, it is lucky that he is here. “
Sergio Fajardo claims that the new party maintains a position independent before the national government, “which means looking with rigor and argumentation at what is happening”. But, he criticized the way in which the national president led the reins of the country, which for him would have caused the departure of certain officials of certain ministries, such as Belize Ruiz oh salazar flower.
Health reform: these are the recommendations of the medical unions
Several unions have underlined certain points that they share with the reform promoted by the government and have also raised the doubts that this generates for them.
“His way of governing is chaotic. He does not drive, he has no equipment. He does not speak to ministers or ministers. Look at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, where the former vice minister who was the technician (Belizza Ruiz), the one who knew about the whole thing, comes out saying it’s horrible there. In the mystery of the work, the technique they chose arrived in January and has already left (Flor Salazar) because of everything that is going on,” he said.
In this sense, the former presidential candidate concluded that “there are a number of internal conflicts because there is no leadership, there is no leader who leads in this context of populism”.
Moreover, he has shown some pessimism about the future of the government, as he believes that many of the things that have been promised will not be delivered. “There is a very big mess and the number of things that have been promised in the campaign and what is still promised, they will not be kept, because they do not have the capacity to do it,” he said. he declares.
