From today until March 31, young people up to the age of 30 will be able to register to access one of the Manuel Belgrano Scholarships. The benefit line aims to promote careers considered priorities for the development of the country for the future.
“The Manuel Belgrano scholarships have as their main objective to provide an economic incentive in the form of a scholarship to young people from low-income homes to pursue a university degree or a technical degree in a discipline considered strategic for development. economic and productive country”, explains the communiqué of the Ministry of Education of the Nation.
Eight areas are included in strategic careers: Food, Environment, Computing and Computing, Energy, Oil and Gas, Mining, Mobility and Transportation, and Basic Sciences. In addition, this year it was decided to include philosophy.
Since the last joint agreement with university professors, the monthly amount received by scholarship recipients is 57 thousand pesos which is adjusted according to negotiations between the government and the sector.
Who can apply?
- Argentinians/natives/naturalized/those with DNI.
- Regular students of national and provincial universities of public management who enter in the first semester of the year 2023 or who study at the time of registration one of the undergraduate or graduate degrees defined by the program. The races can be viewed in the following link.
- Incoming students between the ages of 18 and 30 and current students up to the age of 35.
- Applicants who have a certain type of disability, are mothers of minor children in single-parent households and/or belong to indigenous peoples are exempt from the age requirement.
Socioeconomic status
- At the time of award, applicants must have a household income below 3 minimum, living, and moving wages (SMVM). The conditions apply to the family group (father, mother or guardian). Young people with children and/or married or divorced are recognized as an autonomous family group.
Number and amount of scholarships
- The program will open the possibility of renewal of the benefit to the 36,000 scholarship holders of the 2022 Call during the month of February. Recipients must meet the academic and socio-economic requirements established in the call to be eligible for renewal.
- Starting today, February 22, registrations reopen to new applicants and the program will expand its call to reach 36,000 scholarships.
- The scholarships have a duration of 12 months, renewable according to the conditions established in the general regulations.
- The monthly amount of the scholarship is the equivalent of the net remuneration of 2 (two) second-year assistantships, adjustable annually with the inter-teacher agreement. Today, that amount is 57,000 pesos.
incompatibilities
- The scholarships are incompatible with other benefits of the same nature granted by the National State (such as Progresar scholarships and YPF scholarships).
Registration dates
- The registration date runs from February 22 to March 31, 2023 via the program platform.
Evaluation and awarding of scholarships
- Students advanced in their career must have passed 2 (two) term subjects or 1 (one) yearly subject in the year 2022.
- Those who started their studies before the second term of 2022 will be considered as advanced students.
- Approved finals of regularized subjects from the years preceding the payment of the scholarship will be counted.
- Subjects taken and approved in free condition will be counted for certification.
- Subjects must have been approved/promoted between January 1 and December 31, 2022, no exceptions.
- In the case of new applicants, these requirements will not be required for students who entered their career in the second quarter of 2022 or who will start their career in 2023. They will be assessed as participants in this call. In these cases, regular student status will be certified with their respective universities, depending on the career chosen by each student in their registration form.
- The scholarships will be awarded according to the criteria established in the general regulations, taking into account gender equity, regional balance and the inclusion of groups defined as priorities.
Publication of results:
The results will be published on the program platform during the third week of May 2023. They will be reported individually in the “Status of my application” section.
