Buenos Aires lawmaker had been denounced by left-wing leaders

Leader of the La Libertad Avanza bloc in the Buenos Aires City Legislative Assembly, Ramiro Marrastrongly challenged an opinion of the National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI) in which he was accused of discrimination against the piqueteros, and asked to “close once and for all” this organization, which he described as a “Kirchnerist lair”.

The deputy of Buenos Aires, who leads the space in the place led by the economist at the national level Javier Mileyhad been denounced by left-wing leaders for launching the so-called Argentinian anti-piquetero movement (MAPA), which aims to limit demonstrations in which the street is blocked.

After the decision against him, Marra recorded a video in which he break the file in questiondated January 10, and ratifies the criticism of members of social organizations that lead this type of demonstrations, which he considers “criminals”.

“The INADI denounced me as a discriminator for being against the pickets. Clearly, they decided to turn their backs on the citizen and defend the criminals. This Kirchnerist joint must be closed once and for all. He only persecutes opponents and spends money,” he said in a post on his Twitter account.

The complaint for “discrimination for ideological, political or trade union reasons” was filed months ago by members of the Socialist Workers’ Movement, a party that integrates the Left Front and Workers’ Unity (FIT-Unit), and the Movement without work “Teresa lives”who assured that the objective of the group founded by Marra “is none other than to criminalize social protest”.

“It is discriminatory, because it sets out to encourage the persecution and confrontation of a specific social sector, one of the poorest and most vulnerable: the unemployed and their families,” the plaintiffs argued.

As noted in the case, MAPA’s own website indicates that the course of action it is promoting is not that of a shock force, but that it is “digital activism “, to announce through the web and the networks the next pickets planned or already taking place, identify the leaders who lead the demonstration and disseminate the cost they have for the citizens.

The file was analyzed by the director of assistance to victims of INADI, Emilio Demian Zayatwho ruled that the initiative of the Buenos Aires legislator is based on “hate speech, which preaches discriminatory, stigmatizing and harmful conduct under the terms of Law No. 23,592, Concordant and Complementary Regulations”.

The complaint was filed by leaders of the Left Front and the Movement of the unemployed “Teresavive” (Gustavo Gavotti).

The official concluded that “the discourse of the Anti-Piquetero Movement seeks to arouse contempt on the part of the community for the claims of the piqueteros”, which “causes substantial damage to the public debate, since a certain sector of society , guided by this discourse based on prejudice and social stigma, will not be able to consider with the seriousness and importance that the demands of the group that mobilizes deserve.

“For INADI, I am a discriminator for going against the picket lines, so I calculate that we are doing things well. The government always defends the criminals and abandons the worker”, defended Marra on Twitter.

In this sense, the libertarian referent maintained that “the MAPA is a social movement that seeks to defend the citizens after the absence of government support”, since he considers that “it is inadmissible that the piquetero leaders decide that we we can’t move around the city when it’s coming to them”.

“I will not back down. I will continue. That does not bother me. I am convinced that the fight against the piqueteros is necessary, because they are committing a crime. Is that why we have the INADI? INADI must be closed, they are accomplices of these criminals,” the deputy from Buenos Aires said in the video in which he broke the judgment against him.
