Racing Club beats Arsenal with force

This Friday, the Academy won 3-0 during its visit to Viaducto, on date 4 of the Argentina – Professional League 2023 tournament. The visitor’s goals were scored by Gonzalo Piovi (29′ 1T, free kick), Facundo Mura (38′ 1T) and Matías Rojas (46′ 1T, free kick).

Gonzalo Piovi was applauded with his brilliant finish after 29 minutes of the first half. The defender executed a spectacular free kick from mid-range and broke the opposing barrier. The goalkeeper had no chance to save the shot, in what turned out to be a great goal.

Arsenal and Racing Club had chances to score which ended up hitting the post and Flabián Londoño and Maximiliano Romero couldn’t celebrate.

Gonzalo Piovi performed well. The Racing Club defender was important, scoring 1 goal, stealing 5 balls and repelling 3 dangerous balls.

Juan Ignacio Nardoni also performed well. The Racing Club midfielder made 56 correct passes and stole 7 balls.

Arsenal midfielder Lautaro Guzmán hit a pipe and slammed into the legs of Racing Club defender Facundo Mura after 20 minutes.

The game got messed up with fouls and the players put on a stronger leg. There were several warned: Leonardo Sigali, Maximiliano Centurión, Johan Carbonero, Santiago Paiva and Óscar Opazo.

Meanwhile, Fernando Gago’s side came out with a 4-5-1 tactical arrangement with Gabriel Arias under the three sticks; Facundo Mura, Leonardo Sigali, Gonzalo Piovi and Gabriel Rojas in defence; Juan Ignacio Nardoni, Aníbal Moreno, Matías Rojas, Gabriel Hauche and Johan Carbonero in midfield; and Maximiliano Romero in front.

Germán Delfino was in charge of overseeing the order of play during the game.

The following day Viaducto will face River Plate as visitors, while the Academy will play as visitors against Lanús.

In this way, the local is in twenty-seventh place in the championship with 1 point, while the visit, with 5, is in tenth place.
