At first, there was knowledge of a ship carrying several sealed packages 220 nautical miles southwest of the port of Chiapas (equivalent to approximately 407.4 kilometers). We therefore concluded that it could be a shipment of illicit substancessince the crew members on board were not identified as naval personnel.

Faced with this situation, the Semar he deployed his elements to conduct an examination. However, as it was possible that they would encounter armed people, they decided to ask for help from the United States Coast Guardin order to avoid major mishaps in the event of confrontation or aggression.

But the actions did not stop there. The following day (Tuesday 21 February), the Semar he returned to detect two boats less than 268 nautical miles southwest of the port of Chiapas, in the same area where the aforementioned cocaine seizure took place. Due to the previous event, they also chose to launch a chase to intercept it.

Despite the fact that once again the crew members tried to evade the authorities, they were finally caught after moments of tension. Immediately afterwards, an examination was carried out on both vessels and they found 30 packs with 30 packs each. When they opened them, they detected that they were drugs.

Drug seizures in the state of Chiapas are neither recent nor unusual, since due to its geographical location it has become one of the favorite drug cartel stations. In February, several planes were detected carrying several kilos of cocaine, coming from Latin American countries.

The most recent seizure was made at the end of January, when a jet plane who had landed 20 kilometers northeast of San Quintín, in the municipality of ocosingo. During these actions, two armed men (including a minor) were arrested and seized nine packs of cocaine with an approximate weight of 270 kilograms.
