Amid the wave of protests against power cuts in different parts of the city of Buenos Aires and the suburbs, the Energy Secretariat has instructed the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) to file tomorrow a criminal complaint against the members of the board of directors of Edesur administrators for the offenses of embezzlement, fraud to the detriment of the public administration and abandonment of people.

Similarly, from the field of Energy, the regulatory body had also been ordered to submit a technical report on the state of the company’s concession to the Bicameral Commission for the Control of Public Service Concessions for the purposes of advise, if necessary, to terminate the Edesur concession.

Yesterday, ENRE issued a press release informing that it will send to Congress the results of this general audit in which the quality of the company’s service delivery was assessed.

The letter was posted on Twitter by Walter Martellocontroller ENRE, who expressly specified that “the possible expiration of the concession” of the electricity distribution company is being assessed.

“The National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) informs that under Resolution ENRE No. 237/2023in the next 90 days, it will increase to Honorable Congress of the Nation and to the competent authorities, the technical report resulting from the in-depth audit ordered by the aforementioned resolution and which evaluates the performance of the supply of the public electricity distribution service by the company Edesur SA and the degree of compliance with the obligations contained in the concession contract,” the statement read.

“The current audit considers the operational and managerial assessment of the distributor that resulted in the lack of attention and timely form to user complaints and the replacement of the service, shortcomings that, beyond the global indicators and quality individuals, denote underlying issues that may affect the continuity of the dealership», closes the letter.
