Beirut, March 7. Syrian civil aviation authorities today diverted planes with the help of people affected by the earthquakes to other parts of the country bound for Aleppo International Airport, where air traffic is suspended due to an alleged Israeli attack at dawn.

“After Aleppo airport was put out of service due to Israeli aggression, it was decided that humanitarian aid planes and flights scheduled for the airfield would land in Damascus and Latakia (west)” , said the Ministry of Transport, according to the official news agency. SANA.

The government department said it had already started inspection work on the Aleppo facilities to determine the extent of the material damage caused by the Israeli forces’ missiles and to be able to repair the infrastructure affected by the launch.

Aleppo province in the northwest was one of the hardest hit by the February 6 earthquakes and the airfield serving its namesake capital received some of the humanitarian aid sent by the community international.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based NGO and wide network of collaborators on the ground, confirmed the Israeli action in a statement and recalled that the city’s airfield had been the target another missile attack last year in September.

On this occasion, the impact caused significant material damage and forced the temporary suspension of air traffic, according to the note.

This morning is the fourth such attack launched by Israeli forces since the beginning of the year, while the Jewish state tends to attack Syrian territory relatively frequently, considering the presence of Lebanese armed groups there as a threat. for its security and the Iranian allies of Damascus.
