Sports Writing, Feb. 23 The Panamanian team beat Paraguay 1-0 in the last intercontinental play-off final played at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton (New Zealand) and qualified for the Women’s World Cup for the first time.

Panama are in Group F of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand 2023, which will take place from July 20 to August 20, alongside France, Jamaica and Brazil.

It will be one of eight rookie teams in the finals along with Haiti and Portugal, who also qualified from the Intercontinental Qualifiers, Morocco, Vietnam, Ireland, Zambia and the Philippines. EFE
