Agents of the National Police have arrested EK, alias DEC , in Barcelona , one of the most wanted and dangerous fugitives in Europe who was part of the EU MOST WANTED, a list published by EUROPOL that includes more than a hundred dangerous fugitives.
The arrested man was considered by the Slovenian police and judicial authorities as a “high value target” as he was involved in the transport of more than 300 kilos of heroin from Iran to Slovenia, for which he faces ten years in prison.
FROM IRAN TO SLOVENIA
The events for which he was claimed took place between March 2018 and May 2019, when, together with four other people, he bought drugs and organized their transportation from Iran to Slovenia to sell them. The transport consisted of 800 bags of ceramic adhesive, where they hid 25 specially marked bags and in which there was a total of 302.3 kilograms of heroin.
The merchandise was inside a container that arrived at the port of Koper, in Slovenia. Subsequently, the cargo was transported from the port to a company warehouse. That same day, the arrested person, accompanied by another person, arrived at the scene with the intention of seizing the substances, loading the 25 bags of heroin in two vehicles . The individual faces a sentence of ten years in prison for these acts.
JOINT OPERATION
The detainee used false identities, had lived in different buildings and used different cars. Through the joint work of members of the National Police and the Slovenian Police , his home was located in a Barcelona town, where he lived with his family in a luxury development next to a golf course, a location that forced him to take carry out complex surveillance .
Finally, the arrest was made with the support of two Slovenian agents displaced to the place, and with surprise and forcefulness due to the dangerous nature of the escapee.
SECOND FUGITIVE
The National Police has arrested a second fugitive , in this case from Germany due to several facts related to marijuana trafficking for which he faces more than 18 years in prison. The individual was located in a police device at the door of a hotel in Barcelona, accompanied by two other people.
At the time of the arrest, the suspect reacted with great violence, assaulting and causing various injuries to two officers.
