The deputies of Morena continue to fight National Electoral Institute (INE) and the Federal Judicial Electoral Court (TEPJF)now after the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) determined that the criterion of “honest lifestyle” cannot be a requirement for access to the public service.

It is in the Chamber of Deputies from where Morena Legislators They launched accusations against the councilors and magistrates of the two electoral bodies, assuring that by updating the criteria of an honest way of life, they sought to hinder the candidacies of aspiring Morenists.

The lawmakers of this party supported the decision of the Supreme Court which decided to invalidate this requirement. Hamlet García, secretary of the Political-Electoral Reform Commission, felt that both the INE and the TEPJF designed a “cheating system” to strip Morena of applications, especially those ‘caps’ who will run for the Presidency of the Republic for this party in 2024.

However, this measure was challenged from the Presidency of the Republic and later the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) declared its invalidity, with which INE to issue new guidelines for the impartiality and neutrality of elections without including offenses and sanctions that are not provided for in the Constitution.

During the meeting on Tuesday 7 February, the The court invalidated the new criteria established to the honest way of life, assuring that there was a contradiction of criteria when there was a subjective weightingthat is, the concept is ambiguous in concept, depending on who thinks about it.

In addition, he brought back to the discussion the Electoral Plan Bsince he affirmed that with this package of reforms of the general law on electoral institutions and procedures, the faculties of the National Electoral Institute given their tendency to issue regulations that are outside their jurisdiction.
