More than a year after the election 2024the senator and aspiring presidential candidate for the so-called Fourth Transformation (4T), Ricardo Montrealdeclared worried about “the opposition”.

At a conference in Morelia, Michoacán, the lawmaker said this Friday that Neither the PRI, nor the PAN, nor the PRD have “faces” to compete with Morena and their allies in the fight for the presidential seat.

For him, entrusted them to God and claimed to feel “a very dispersed opposition”.

“I feel an opposition without strategy, I feel an opposition weakened, to such an extent that we don’t see faces that could already be in this fight… May God help them! But, I don’t see a united opposition. I don’t like it, because it looks very blurry, I hope it will get stronger and I say this in good faith, without any other type of attitude “

He even said that in the case of Citizen movement (MC) — a party that refused to join the PRI, PAN and PRD — has three possible candidates: Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas, Mayor of Monterrey; and the governors Samuel Garcia and Enrique Alfaroof Nuevo León and Jalisco, respectively.

On the contrary, he claimed that in the case of 4T, in addition to him, there are the so-called “corcholatas” of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador: Claudia Sheinbaumhead of government; Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary for External Relations (SRE); And Adam Augusto Lopez HernandezInterior Secretary (Segob).

“We will try to stay united, because it is the guarantee of victory and ratification in 2024”

He reiterated that his fight will not be easy against the 18 months of pre-campaign that the “corcholatas” have an advantagebut he argued that if a democratic election is not guaranteed, an internal division could be generated that would endanger Morena’s tenure in the Mexican government.

Regarding security, Monreal Ávila said that the judiciary needs deep reforms to regain public trust in the administration of justice and confronting organized criminal groups who now want to intervene in electoral processes.

“Unfortunately, they also impose municipal and district authorities. We must not hide it, organized crime also wants to intervene in our electoral processes and we must not allow it; You know it, in the cities, in the provinces”

During his participation in the forum “Law Initiative against the crime of extortion”, he recalled that organized crime was dedicated only to the transfer and marketing of narcotics, health-related crimes, which is why their activities were practically reduced to planting, cultivation, marketing and drug trafficking.

However, he regretted that organized crime moved its activities extortion, collection of an apartment, even the protection of criminals who are dedicated to the theft of hydrocarbons or the imposition of quotas on basic foodstuffs.

“Now a serious problem has been generated in the cities, which we cannot hide. He moved to collect a percentage of the agricultural products, the harvest of the peasants or the cattle of the breeders”

He indicated that an underlying question is how to ensure that justice prevails in our country, since in this case, nine out of ten extortions go unreported, out of fear, “because they do not want that the accused, after an agreement with the public prosecutor and an acquittal by the judge, pay the consequences”.

In this regard, he mentioned that the population does not report this type of crime “out of fear, out of distrust of authority or because you barely press charges, when the accused already knows that you have filed them. This is the great problem of justice”.
