The President of the Political Coordination Council (Jucopo) of the Senate of the Republic, Ricardo Montreal Ávila, reiterated that does not and will not have confidence in the investigation that the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) will carry out to elect the person who will represent the movement of the Fourth Transformation to the presidential succession in the 2024 elections.
During a press conference on his visit to San Luis Potosí, the coordinator of the guinda party in the Upper House indicated that, although at the end of January was recognized as a candidate for the candidacy owned by the federal executive, he still has no confidence in the selection process that will take place within his party, especially if only one poll is given.
To which, the senator explained that, for this reason, proposed that it be a battery of investigationsthat is, three main polls and two mirrors being established, which is why he indicated that he would only think so, as he has no idea to participate if only Morena creates them.
“No, I don’t trust Morena’s investigation, I’ve said it before (…) I have no reason to change my mind now. I wouldn’t trust Morena’s investigation. I wouldn’t submit to an investigation by Morena. On the other hand, if there is a battery of surveys, three main surveys, two mirror surveys, I think, but if there was only the Morena survey, it would not make sense to participate in it . I don’t think so,” he said last Saturday, March 11.
Likewise, when asked about his idea of a flat floor within Regeneración Nacional, Monreal Ávila stated that does not recognize that there is an “equal court”, due to the fact that his colleagues who are running for the same position have already started their campaign, since they are doing propaganda in some federal entities.
However, as he has already mentioned, he has indicated that he will respect the official timetables set by the National Electoral Institute (INE) because considers it not correct that the process is advancedFor this reason, he was identified as the only candidate with a broad political career, as well as a “solid project” of ideas and proposals.
“I don’t recognize that there is flat ground. There is no equal threshold, I am clear that there is a disadvantage and unequal treatment. Whereas here in San Luis there are thousands of fences, of different aspirants, there are none of mine, whereas here there are operational cadres of one or the other aspirant or he there is clarity in political operators or spending that to me doesn’t seem right, I haven’t had a chance of that.”
Add to that, regretted that in the guinda party he continues without establishing rules ofe fairness and participation for all aspirants to the candidacy for the presidency of the Republic, since he mentioned that it will only be to avoid the fracture of Morena, which could finally give the victory to which the political institute aspires in the next federal electoral process.
