Mohamed Salah will miss one more game through injury and Liverpool expect the striker to return next week for a Europa League trip to Prague before hosting Manchester City in the all-important Premier League game.
Salah injured his hamstring while playing for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations in January and has only played half of one game since then – in the 4-1 win over Brentford on Feb. 21.
Liverpool have not commented on Salah’s ongoing hamstring problem, but he was ruled out of the Premier League leaders’ clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
“I don’t think Mo will be away, but he won’t be tomorrow,” manager Jurgen Klopp clarified on Friday. “I think next week at any time is possible. He is almost ready, but not quite ready.”
Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai are expected to be available this weekend after time out through injury.
Liverpool are a point ahead of defending league champions City. Arsenal, who are third, are two points behind the leaders.
Klopp’s side face Sparta Prague for the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie next Thursday before hosting City three days later.
