Aguililla looked like a war zone. The roar of the bullets did not stop this Thursday afternoon in a confrontation between alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and residents in the community of the state of Michoacan. The balance would be 26 dead, as has been unofficially disclosed.
The arrival of the hitmen was reported by the inhabitants from an early hour, which unleashed panic; however, no police command intervention was reported.
It has been fourteen months since the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) is disputed with blood and fire with “Viagras“and its allies from the criminal association “Cartels United” (Tepalcatepec, Knights Templar, Whites of Troy, The Michoacan Family, The New Michoacan Family) community control Bonifacio Moreno “El Aguaje”.
Since then the violence has spread to other locations such as Aguililla, La Huerta, El Limoncito and El Naranjo de Chila, land that gave birth to Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, The Mencho.
In that region, in addition to constant confrontations, there have been murders, massacres, looting, kidnappings and disappearances.
That border between Jalisco and Michoacán is considered as the zero zone of drug trafficking in the center of the country.
The area- with an extension of 563 kilometers- is identified by the phenomenon of “Ghost towns” since many of those born there leave the site, due to the violence unleashed by crime and the lack of opportunities for young people.
In El Charapo and El Limoncito there is already food shortage, since the truck that supplied food to that area was stolen and burned in the road blockades that took place in days past between Buenavista and Apatzingán.
The residents have been forced to abandon their homes, while the criminals continue without giving in in a war that seems to have no end and in the middle of which are the inhabitants of Aguililla.
Small gangs of hitmen like Los Viagras have gone from selling their artillery to the highest bidder to setting themselves up as a autonomous power. While the CJNG has taken over several municipalities that were previously controlled by the Familia Michoacana.
