The New Mexico Police Department, in USA, released the images of the murder of an agent at the hands of a drug dealer. The crime occurred on February 4 east of the city of Deming, when Officer Darian Jarrott, 28, stopped a Chevrolet truck at a routine traffic control.
In the video you can see how the officer asks the driver, identified as Omar Felix Cueva, 39, to get out of the vehicle. When getting off the driver’s side, the man carried an AR-15 type rifle. Here is how the suspect shoots the agent, who crouches down and falls backward.
“Cueva shot Officer Jarrott several times, who was hit by gunfire and died”, The authorities detailed in a statement.
“As Cueva ran toward the front of the truck on the passenger side, he shot Officer Jarrott point-blank in the neck,” they added.
An agent of National security, who reached the scene of the shooting, notified the state police about the death of the cash. After officers located the suspect’s truck, they chased him to the area of The crosses, exchanging bursts of shots all the way.
In addition, officers used devices to puncture the tires of the murderer’s vehicle and carried out other maneuvers to force the truck off the road until a patrolman managed to stop her.
Cave got out of the vehicle firing his gun but, in his attempt to escape, he did not go very far as the officers’ bullets hit him. Finally, the murderer fell to the ground and died.
The New Mexico Police Department, which honored the deceased officer on his Twitter account, detailed that Cueva was heading to Las Cruces to do a drug-related business when Jarrott gave the voice of stop to his vehicle. The killer had a “Violent criminal record”, which included his first arrest at age 13 for vandalism, repeated drug possession as a teenager, and trafficking at age 21, culminating in possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine at age 29.
Robert Thornton, the chief of the New Mexico police department, acknowledged the service of the officer fallen in the line of duty. “We appreciate the support of the public during this difficult time. We will honor Officer Jarrott’s sacrifice by continuing to serve and protect the citizens of New Mexico ”, he claimed.
Officer Jarrott had begun his career as a transportation inspector and, in July 2015, had been sworn in as a police officer for the state of New Mexico, where he served bravely until the day of the shooting. The officer left behind to three young children while waiting for their fourth child in the next few months. Jarrott was buried last Friday, February 12, 2021 in the Shakespeare Cemetery in the city of Lordsburg during a private ceremony.
