Mexico ranked for the third consecutive month as the main partner of the United States by adding trade for 68 thousand 384 million dollars , according to figures from the US Census Bureau.

With this, the country was located above Canada, which registered 65 thousand 372 million dollars, and China, with 60 thousand 270 million dollars.

During October, the main trading partners of the United States were Mexico with a 14.8 percent share , followed by Canada with 14 percent , China with 13 percent , while Germany and Japan ranked with 4.6 and 4.3 percent , respectively.

Together, these countries represent 50.8 percent of total American trade in the tenth month of the year.

In the same period last year, the United States ‘ top three trading partners were China with 15.6 percent , Mexico with 14.2 percent and Canada with 14.1 percent.

However, from January to October of this year, Canada ranks as the United States’ main trading partner with 15 percent, followed by Mexico with 14.7 percent and China with 13.2 percent.

The US trade balance with Mexico was in deficit with 12 thousand 369 million dollars , its highest level so far this year, registering a nominal growth of 6.7 percent compared to the previous September.

While exports for 28 billion dollars rose 0.3 percent nominal , while imports for 40 thousand 377 million dollars were 2.2 percent higher.

The results come in a context where the US economy has been slowing down and analysts do not rule out a slight recession in the second half of the year.
