Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón announced the signing of an agreement in India for investment in various fields (SRE)

On March 3, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ERS), Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón announced his arrival on the Asian continent, specifically to new dehli, India to attend the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting.

And on Saturday, the SRE shared a statement in which it announced the signing of an agreement to promote innovation in various fields through the investment of a one million dollars with the Asian country.

Mexico and India will collaborate and jointly fund binational development and innovation projects in areas related to water, lithium, aerospace, biotechnology and vaccines, the foreign minister announced Marcelo Ebrard.

During his New Delhi tour, Ebrard testified, along with India’s science and technology minister, Jitendra Singhthe signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research of India.

Among the highlights of this agreement, the creation of a million dollar fund formed with contributions from 500 thousand dollars from each country.

In accordance with the agreement, the two countries will identify priority development projects, including hydraulic management, the development of electromobility and the production of low-cost vaccines, according to the agency’s press release.

Secretary Ebrard Casaubón explained that once the fund is constituted, it is planned to convene various research institutions for the implementation of the chosen projects.

During this tour, Foreign Minister Ebrard also met Rajat MalhanVice-President of Sun Mobility, which operates a system of immediate battery charging stations for electric motorcycles.

They explained that the system allows, in a few minutes, motorcycle drivers to change their discharged batteries for recharged batteries in automated stations.

Following the meeting, the Foreign Relations Secretary advised that they will look for Mexican partners to bring to the country a system like the one implemented in Indiawhich will allow cheaper and less polluting transport options.

On his Twitter account, he shared footage of his visit to the EV battery change station: “This is how automatic battery replacement works for e-motorcycles and EVs in Delhi. Petrol stations are gradually becoming battery stations and super chargers. Soon in Mexico too“, he pointed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Undersecretary Carmen Moreno Toscano; the Mexican Ambassador to India, Federico Salas; the Director General of Cooperation Policy, Javier Dávila, and the Director General of Planning and Evaluation, Carlos Castillo.

On the other hand, on Saturday evening, the secretary uploaded a video in which he anticipates what will be the next stage of his work tour in India. Well, he shared on his social media around 10:00 p.m. that he was on the flight to Mumbai.

“There is the headquarters of the immunotherapy laboratories that we are going to visit. Immunotherapy is changing all of medicine,” he mentioned in the 58-second video.

It is technology with T or CAR-T cells for the fight against blood cancer and that the federal government plans to bring to Mexico. He assured that for this he is accompanied by different scientists from the National Institute of Nutritionof the National Polytechnic Institute (PIN) among other institutions “who do us the favor of participating” with the health sector.

He added that an agreement will be signed with the aim that by the end of the year this technology will be introduced in the country for the editing of T cells. Finally, there are plans to open the Mexican consulate in Mumbai .
