DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Barbora Krejcikova upset first seed Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-2 in the Dubai Championships final on Saturday.

Krejcikova closed the tournament by beating the first three of the WTA rankings: Aryna Sabalenka (2) in the quarter-finals and Jessica Pegula (3) in the semi-finals and finally Swiatek. He also beat Daria Kasaktina (8) in the second round.

The Czech became the fifth woman in the open era to beat the top three in the world in the same tournament.

Krejcikova dominated the entire game and broke Swiatek five times. The Pole collected two breaks in the first set, but Krejcikova earned a zero break and won the set.

In the second set, she broke for 2-1 and 5-2 and easily held on to serve for the win and claim her sixth singles title.

The last title he won was in October, also beating Swiatek for the first time in the Ostrava final.
