Berlin, March 7. Kingsley Coman’s name is likely to be associated by PSG fans with the 2020 Champions League final. Joshua Kimmich hit the far post and Coman scored the game’s only goal to hand Bayern the club title European maximum and snatch it from PSG.

This season, in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League, PSG fans had to remember the existence of Coman. This time, Alphonso Davies’ cross came from the other side and Coman struck first with his right foot to give Bayern the win in Paris.

The French player didn’t celebrate the goal as a sign of respect for the club where he grew up and the city where he was born.

Coman made his PSG debut at the age of 16 on August 3, 2013 in a game against Girondins de Bordeaux, and from the start he was seen as a great promise. However, he did not have many opportunities to impose himself in the Parisian team.

In 2014 he went to Juventus. And on August 30, 2015, he was loaned to Bayern for two years with an option to buy that the German team would eventually execute.

Upon his arrival in Munich, Coman said he hoped to be a player who would make a difference. At that time, this sentence was more than ambitious. Coman had arrived as a substitute to cover losses to Frank Ribery or Arjen Robben.

However, from the start, Coman enjoyed the minutes and enjoyed significant moments in both the Bundesliga and the German Cup and the Champions League.

In the 2018/2019 season, the last for Robben and Ribéry, Coman began to be the first choice although his Bayern career was frequently interrupted by injuries and also by a heart problem.

When physically fit, he usually features in Bayern fixtures and is a key player in one-on-one matches due to his dribbling ability and speed, as well as his finishing against the opposing goal.

This season in the Bundesliga, Coman has five goals and five assists in 16 games played. Of the five goals, two are recent, he scored them in the 3-0 victory against Union Berlin, key in the struggle for leadership. In the same week, he scored against PSG.

There is no reason, except last minute physical problem, for him not to be on the pitch tomorrow against his former team.

Coman has a curious record. His teams – PSG in France, Juventus in Italy and Bayern in Germany – have always been national champions when they have had him in their team.

Coman’s contract with Bayern runs until 2027.
