Although the senator john zepeda was listed as the letter with which Citizen movement (CM) would participate in the elections for the post of governor of State of Mexico (Edomex), the representation of orange in these elections and in those of Coahuila was completely ruled out.
This had been anticipated by the emecist himself in an interview with Ciro Gomez Leyvawhere he mentions that the activism led by dante delgado was in talks to define whether or not to go ahead with these elections – as well as those in Coahuila. Fact by which he confirmed his refusal of the Mexican candidacy.
“Today my voice wants to have serenity, prudence and a little intelligence.”
And it is that even when the polls show that the candidates of Edomex from the alliance of the opposition Pass through Mexico and MC do not take off compared to that of the Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) Delfina Gomez, Zepeda Hernández claimed that the polarization in the Mexican entity earned him the bench of the orange eagle “insults and infamies”.
This, he said in reference to his experience as a candidate in the last elections of 2017, due to the polarization that currently governs the struggle to seize the most important stronghold of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (AT) and which, he pointed out, had earned activism the target of “disqualifications on both sides” — perhaps, due to criticism for having limited itself to declaring itself favorable to the alliance of PAN-PRI-PRD or to that of the Fourth Transformation (4T).
“Citizen Movement has generated its own identity. (…) And even so, when we make a proposal, they disqualify us on one side and the other. And they call us at each trial to join us shouting, with hats, with an imposing attitude”, he affirmed to the microphones of Formula group.
“Anyone who aspires to govern this country or the State of Mexico cannot be so humiliated. And we have to maintain dignity.”
This is how the legislator announced that MC was already in talks to assess whether “they took a step asidein the face of what they warn will be “a very polarized election” in the State of Mexico.
“What does it mean to step aside?” Don’t get involved in this polarization which today crosses the whole country. (…) May this lateral step be a voice and a silence that invite reflection”.
“Today it is going to be proposed (not to participate in the elections). I spoke with Dante Delgado, ”he commented before the express question of Gómez Leyva, abundant that the conversations with the national leader of MC go back since the last election.”It’s not new”.
In this sense, Juan Zepeda reported that the candidates that MC presented as prospects for the governorates of the 2022 elections were seriously accused in the political circle; to such an extent, he asserted, that said criticism eliminated them from citizen preferences: “they didn’t deserve this. Great women, great male candidates, citizens who trusted us,” he lamented.
“Last year in the 2022 election, MC ran in all six gubernatorial elections. (…) And they disqualified them beyond their power. They accused us of dividing the vote, of adhering to this or that project, They accused us of playing the game one way or the other. and they phased it out to us.
Finally, the legislator shortened the interview by providing for a pact between the PRI and Morena (commonly called the PRIMOR) for the election days next June.
A few hours after the legislator’s declaration, the Movimiento Ciudadano confirmed that it would not participate in the elections for the governorates of Edomex and Coahuila.
This was reported by orange bank in an official statement, in which it explained the six reasons which led them to resign from the elections, which he accused of being “a joke”; among which stands out a alliance between the PRI and Morena: “We will see PRIMOR perform as they have already done in Campeche, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Sonora and Sinaloa.”
“The pact is obvious: in Coahuila, the presidential parties are separated so that the PRI can win. And in the State of Mexico, we will see the whole machine of the PRI working in favor of Morena”.
To this he referred to the criticisms they have been the target of from the side of 4T and Va por México to show that after getting off the race they will no longer have “an excuse to continue to blame us” .
“It will be shown that the only alliance is that of PRIMORhe interrupted.
