What beast spits aromatic jerky in Octopath Traveler 2?

If you’ve made it this far in the story, chances are you already have Aromatic Jerky in your inventory. This piece of meat comes from a beast called Buttermeep, which you have already encountered and beaten. Remember that the only party member who can get this refreshment from fallen beasts is Ochette. If you’ve left Ochette out of your main battle lineup, you may have missed the best opportunities to nab that delicious snack from enemy drops. Take her with you on this Buttermeep hunting trip to get the Aromatic Jerky.
Buttermeeps spawn in random encounters in western and southern Crackridge Wilds, day and night. These creatures are very easy to catch, as even a low level Ochette can achieve a 100% catch rate after just a few weak hits. Just fight one of these creatures and you’ll be swimming in Aromatic Jerky in no time. If you can’t wait to encounter this beast sooner, unequip the Scholar’s passive and evasive maneuvers and run like the wind through Crackridge Wilds to increase your encounter rate.
