Former President of the United States, Jimmy Carterleft the hospital where he was admitted this Saturday to continue with palliative care in her house.
This was reported by The Carter Center in a statement in which they mentioned that doctors and family supported the decision of the 98-year-old former civil servant.
“Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive palliative care instead of other medical interventions. He has the full support of his family. and his medical team. The Carter family asks for privacy during this time and appreciates the concern shown by his many fans,” it read.
Recently, Carter had been admitted to health centers several times.
The former president had been diagnosed in 2015 con metastatic melanomawhich evolved and led to liver and brain cancer. Thanks to an experimental drug and immunotherapy and radiotherapy, he announced the following year that he no longer had any signs of the disease.
Then in 2019, he had to be rushed to the hospital several times. This year, Carter had an accident at least three timesbeing the first of them in the spring, which is why he had to undergo a hip replacement surgery. Later, on October 6, a fall caused an injury that required 14 tips and finally, during a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, on October 21, fractured pelvis.
These episodes generated brain is bleeding -subdural hematomas- which generated pressure in his skull, so he had to go into the operating room to release that pressure.
