Likewise, the city’s health entity pointed out that clinics such as the Avidanti, Caribbean Sea, Benedicto, Cehoca, La Mujer, Perfect Body and the Bay, They no longer have beds available in the Intensive Care Units for the care of patients infected with coronavirus.

The health authorities also indicated that March 2021 became the month with the most registered cases of covid-19 during the entire pandemic in the city. According to the Ministry of Health, for that month, in Santa Marta 7,435 infections and 225 deaths were reported from the virus.

In fact, the statistics of the entity also indicated that for the month of March, 239 daily cases were registered in the capital of the department of Magdalena, that is, 10 per hour, one of the highest figures, even compared to the highest peak. high in 2020 that was presented in the month of August. In order to mitigate the spread of coronavirus infections in the department of Magdalena, the governor, Carlos Caicedo, issued a new decree with the measures and restrictions that should be applied throughout the region.

The decree asks mayors to adopt curfew measures in their municipalities from 8 pm on Wednesday, March 31 to 5 am on Thursday, April 1; from 6 pm on that Thursday to 5 am on Friday, April 2; from 6 pm on that Friday to 5 am on Saturday, April 3; from 6 pm on Saturday to 5 am on Sunday, April 4 and from 6 pm on Sunday to 5 am on Monday, April 5.”, Informed the Government of Magdalena.

Similarly, the decree issued by Governor Caicedo stated that the mayors of Ciénaga, Puebloviejo, Sitionuevo, Fundación, Aracataca and Zona Bananera would have to issue an administrative act by which access to beaches, resorts and rivers would be prohibited. from these areas from 12:00 midnight on Thursday, April 1, until 5:00 in the morning on Monday, April 5.
