China has recorded the first two deaths from Covid-19 after more than a year. This was reported by the National Health Commission stating that both deaths occurred in the north-eastern province of Jilin, while the country is facing the worst wave of infections since the beginning of the pandemic. Deaths were the first reported in China since January 26, 2021. 4,051 new cases were recorded in the country today, down from 4,365 the day before.
