The District Arts Institute (Idartes) reported that will deliver 255 million pesos to more than 150 people who carry out artistic practices in the streets of Bogotá, in order to make visible, dignified and enhance their talents.

Idartes pointed out that in addition to the monetary incentive, they will have the opportunity to participate in events such as Park Festivals, Leisure and Fantasy Hall (Sofa), Bogota International Book Fair (Filbo) and KY Art Festival, among others.

Deputy Arts Director María Salamanca pointed out that the arts program at KY social inclusion is promoted and productive of artists in the public space, within the framework of regulation, the supply of resources, the promotion of creative projects, spaces for the visibility of their artistic practices and the implementation of qualification processes and professionalization.

“This allows them to achieve economic and cultural sustainability,” Salamanca added.

Through five public invitations, Idartes informed that he would hand over the 255 million pesos. The first is “Drewpolis Art at KYwhich will convene cartoonists, human statues and cartoonists registered on the public space use authorization platform who wish to make their artistic practices visible in the Design and Comics Pavilion of the International Fair of Bogotá book.

Idartes explained that this invitation will benefit 20 visual and performative artistss and visuals, with the delivery of 10 million pesos in economic recognitions and its participation in Filbo.

In addition, the “Art KY Art Circulation Bag” will be added, which will provide more 38 million pesos to 64 musicians, singers, storytellers, dancers, narrators, human statues and poets, who in turn will be able to participate in different events and scenarios assigned by Idartes.

The District Institute of the Arts added that the public invitation to “Local art fairs, in which ten million pesos will be awarded in recognition and will select ten cartoonists, painters or caricaturists to participate in the hobby and fantasy room (sofa).

On the other hand, and as one of the exclusive stages for these public space artists, Idartes will organize the third version of the Arte a la KY Festival, an event that aims to bring together the best artistic practices The streets of Bogota through dance sessions, oral tales, storytelling, theater, human circus, caricatures, musical numbers, among others.

The institute has clarified that for this line it will open a public invitation that will give 180 million pesos in recognition and select the people or groups which will be part of the artistic program.

As part of the artistic activity portfolio Idartes, the second Artists’ Fair Art at KY with the participation of 13 painters and designers who will be selected by the institute so that they can make their practices visible and make profitable a physical commercial space as a gallery.

In this public invitation, Idartes will deliver more than 16 million pesos recognize “the heritage of street artists and bring artistic expressions closer to the public space of citizens”, through innovative languages, diverse aesthetics and unique techniques of plastic and visual arts.
