Badalona (Barcelona), 19 Feb. Unicaja coach Ibon Navarro assured this Sunday after beating Lenovo Tenerife in the Copa del Rey final (80-83), that the Canarian team had put his people in more difficulty than Barça and Real Madrid in the previous two rounds.

“Today’s game was the most difficult, not because it was a final. Tenerife were the team that made our game the most difficult and, until the end of the third quarter, when we arrived a little cooler, we couldn’t pick up the pace, which was very low and favored them”, analyzed the Vitoria coach.

Navarro, who appeared in the Palau Olímpic press room with his son, admitted that it was already expected to be the “toughest” match for his team: “Lenovo Tenerife have a type very sober and slow game, no He makes mistakes. And we often live on the mistakes of our opponents”.

“I want to congratulate Tenerife for their project. It is a mirror in which we look at ourselves when we start a project like ours, made with meaning, which improves every year and is faithful to an idea. All honors and respect goes to a great team”, greeted the Unicaja coach in reference to his rival.

Finally, Navarro underlined the chemistry of the team: “I am happy and proud of the boys. I like them very much. The union, the cohesion and the sense of a family are very similar to what there is in this team.”

“If anything prevails in this group, it’s the lack of selfishness. We all put the team before individual interests. Some may think it’s my merit, but there’s a lot of work behind the selection people and it’s also part of You can’t control how everyone is going to fit in, and they’ve done really well,” he concluded.
