A car accident recorded in the tourist destination of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, led to a gloomy finding inside one of the vehicles involved in the mishap.
It all happened when two trucks hit a section of state highway 544 in the state of Jalisco, a fact that was reported to the authorities.
However, before the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, alleged assassins rescued two people who were injured inside one of the vans, as well as weapons and other objects, according to local media revealed.
When the paramedics and Civil Protection elements arrived, the crew members had already escaped, but inside the damaged unit they found a lifeless person as a result of the crash, as well as human remains wrapped in plastic bags in the rear.
After this finding, they requested the support of police and ministerial authorities to protect the crime scene. Personnel from the Mexican army also arrived at the scene.
In this regard, the State Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the bags with human remains were transferred to the facilities of the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences to be examined through the corresponding protocols.
This finding comes after a report from the United States Department of the Treasury revealed that Puerto Vallarta became the main center of operations for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
According to the document, the paradisiacal site of Jalisco is used by the criminal organization to launder drug trafficking proceeds through nightclubs, bars and restaurants, in addition to being the place where the CJNG manages extortion and drug trafficking.
The expansion of the criminal group in Puerto Vallarta has led to an increase in violence since the main operators of the cartel have been involved in several murders that have occurred in that area of the Mexican Pacific.
