In turn, the director explained how the dynamics of the day were and how they used the space to refresh the students: “It occurred to us to place a garden hose in the square so that the boys can get their heads wet. Water is a resource to take care of, it is not a resource to play with. We ask you to bring a net and a towel. They can come into mesh and cause everything to change. They will play with pipes at recess, as a group. They go out in a group and they are going to get wet. There is air conditioning, but they cannot be turned on due to low voltage”.

In addition, in order for the students to have a better understanding of the situation, the teachers explain the phenomena that lead to the production of these high temperatures. “It leads to working in the classrooms on what has to do with global warming, taking care of water and air conditioning, which we cannot use due to tension problems,” Sánchez said. .

The day before, the establishment had informed the parents of how the school was preparing to carry out the pedagogical day and how they planned to fight against the high temperatures: “The school must adapt to the context, prioritize the well-being of our students without interrupting the dictation of the classes; In this way, they will be able to refresh themselves and make school more pleasant,” the school Francisco Gurruchaga informed the parents.

The position of the Francisco Gurruchaga school opposes the request of part of the union of public teachers of the province of Santa Fe, which calls for the suspension of classes due to high temperatures.

Currently, the city of Santa Fe is under red alert due to high temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. According to forecasts, the city will experience its worst day this Tuesday when highs will reach 35 degrees. Relief would only come at the end of the week with a day that will have a minimum of 17°C and a maximum of 31°C.
