The National Government issued Executive Order 0227 on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in which it empowers the President Gustavo Petro assume the regulation of public services in Colombia. The first president will exercise the general powers of the Energy and Gas Regulatory Commission (Craig) and the Commission for the Regulation of Drinking Water and Basic Sanitation (BOW).

The document was signed on Wednesday February 15 by the members of the ministerial cabinet: José Antonio Ocampo (Treasury), Irene Vélez (Mines and Energy), Catalina Velasco (Housing) and the National Director of Planning, Jorge Iván González.
