A young man foiled an assault in a Guanajuato store with tear gas

What appeared to be another small business robbery in the state of Guanajuato ended up being a show of courage from a woman.

And it is that a young worker of a winery located in the downtown area of the municipality of San Francisco del Rincón confronted an armed assailant and managed to defeat his mission, a fact that was recorded by a camera video surveillance of the establishment.

According to the 2:27-minute video, the crime occurred on February 13, around 6:30 p.m. At first, we observe a man enter the business and approach the counter, towards which the young woman gets up to serve him.

Subject, who is wearing a cap, tan shirt, and face mask, begins to ask her the price of certain bottles until she turns on her side, at which point she pulls out a gun burning her clothes and threatening her that she will give all the money.

Then we see that the worker is momentarily in shock, until she reacts and approaches the cash register, following the criminal’s instructions.

However, when it looked like he was going to hand over the day’s winnings, he takes advantage of the man’s falling guard to spray him in the face with what appears to be pepper spray.

He immediately puts his hands to his face, drops the gun and runs out of the cellar. “Help, help me!”, we hear the young woman shout as she runs towards the entrance to see where the attacker has escaped.

She then goes back to the box, grabs her phone and appears to be looking for something on it while crying uncontrollably. Finally, he starts recording a voicemail saying “nothing was stolen from me because I threw the gas at him”.
