From Bizarrap to Black Eyed Peas: the incredible poster of the 2023 San Marcos Fair

There San Marcos Fair It is one of the oldest events in Mexican history. This celebration began in 1828 as a way to support the local economy through the massive sale of livestock and crops. Nearly 200 years later, the Fair has become a celebration whose economic benefits reach 8 billion MXN pesos (according to 2022 data).

Bullfighting shows, mechanical games, casinos, exhibitions and, of course, live music, are among the main attractions of the most important event in Aguascalientes, and it is in this last activity that, for the 2023 edition, the state government threw the house out the window.

Teresa Jiménez Esquivel, Governor of Aguascalientesmade the official announcement of the acts that will be part of the musical offer in 2023, and without a doubt, it will be the most ambitious edition to date. From April 16 to May 8, more than 20 internationally renowned artists at the Foro de las Estrellas (also known as People’s Theatre) completely free.

In 2022, the presence of acts such as Steve Aoki, Caifanes, Marco Antonio Solís and Untouchable They demonstrated the versatility and investment that the government of Aguascalientes was ready to make to guarantee a historic event, however, this year the language barrier was broken with an unprecedented supply of artists. Dimitri Vegas, Black Eyed Peas and Rod Stewartwill be part of the musical entertainment of the Fair of San Marcos.

It seems that the fair is trying to modernize with more current sounds, since on the official poster you can also read names like Maluma, Manuel Turizo, Belinda, Danna Paola or even Bizarrapa producer who is living the best moment of his career thanks to his recent collaboration with Shakira. Of course, the organizers do not leave aside the Mexican regional, a must for this event for several decades now; Los Tigres del Norte, Eden Muñoz and Heavywill be responsible for representing the genre during the Fair.

The Forum des Etoiles will not be the only place to have high-level musicians.
