At least four Adventist Christians were abducted while offering a live service on Facebook last night in the town of Carrefour, south of Port-au-Prince.

“Around 9 pm (local time) three heavily armed men broke into the room, pointed their weapons and kidnapped the 4 people. The kidnappers were traveling in two cars,” Figaro Gréger, president of the Gospel Kreyol Ministry, said in a radio interview.

The victims are Pastor Estimé Audalus and the faithful Welmyr Jean Pierre, Francisco Derival and Steven Jerome. “The name of Jesus is so sweet!” They sang when they were kidnapped.

Gréger lamented the “unfortunate” incident and called on the kidnappers to release the four Adventist Christians. He stated that so far those who carried out the plagiarism have not communicated to demand ransom.

“Prayer is our weapon. If God allows this to happen, He knows why and (has) the ability to free them,” Greger told the capital’s radio station RTVC.

“It is very unfortunate for the country, it is very unfortunate that this is the situation in which we live,” added the religious in charge of the Gospel Kreyol Ministry, who directs a well-known choir in Haiti aimed at virtual evangelization.

The video of the kidnapping, widely disseminated on social media, has unleashed a wave of outrage among desperate Haitians.

The film shows the terrified religious trying to hide while a man with a long gun places them on the broadcast stage and forces them to leave with him.

In Haiti, dozens of people have been kidnapped from their homes, offices and on the streets and this time inside during a service broadcast live on social media.

Haitian President Jovenel Moise recently asked the country’s political actors to reach a coexistence agreement to confront the increase in insecurity and the multiplication of street protests that demand his departure from power.

Groups of armed gangs have taken territorial control in various parts of the Haitian capital and to a lesser extent in other cities in the country.

Kidnappings are the order of the day in the most depressed country in America, while Moise fights a pulse with the opposition, which demands his departure from power, while he ensures that his term ends on February 7, 2022.
