Forest fires: four provinces fought new outbreaks

It is in the latter province that volunteer firefighters from Epuyén reported that the fire which broke out at dawn on Sunday is still active and not under control. But beyond the efforts, the workers do not know how the flames that affect the native forests went from the area of ​​El Pedregoso (between Rincón de Matus and the Las Mercedes lagoon) to the Coihue area, adding that for the moment they have not been reported. wounded.

For its part, the Provincial Fire Management Service (SPMF) maintains that according to indications and preliminary data from the site, the fire is likely intentional.

To make matters worse, as they indicated, the weather conditions, the availability of plant fuel and the topography of the place favored the generation of secondary sources and the spread of the fire after noon. Faced with this situation, some 115 rescuers and logisticians took part in the fight against the fires.

Personnel work in the busiest areas with hand tools and hydraulic equipment in the construction of strips around the perimeter of the fire.

On the other hand, the SMNF reported that in the province of Buenos Aires, the members of the brigade managed to contain the outbreak that until yesterday affected the town of Berazategui in the Hudson reserve, so that the fire continues its activity. In any case, thanks to the work carried out, its progress has been stopped, according to the organization.

In the same province, the Campana fire remained under control and the Tornquist and Ensenada fires in the Punta Lara nature reserve were brought under control, so that in these two places it is considered that “there is no There is no possibility of regrowth”, detailed the SNMF.

Across the country, according to the agency, many fires have been contained. Flames from Gualeguay (Sin Moneda) to Entre Ríos have been contained. In the province of Corrientes they were contained in the departments of Ituzaingó (Ñupy 2, Evento 12 and Loma San Marco); Design (Estero Carambola and Estero Batelito); and Santo Tomé (María Concepcion).

To do this, a helicopter and two hydrant planes belonging to the SNMF were operated in this region. An additional hydrant plane from the province was also used, while an SNMF helicopter worked in the Iberá National Park.

Towards the south of the country, in Chubut, the focus of Cushamen was contained, in the area of ​​El Pedregoso, and those of El Hoyo (Currumahuida) were controlled; Futaleufú (Paso Ancho/Campo de Jones – Gabriel Rodales/Población Rosales, Laguna El Tarro, Trevelin); and Cushamen (Orbina Cholila/Lago Cholila).

In Río Negro, the fire in Bariloche (Arroyo Ushuaia and Río Foyel, Río Ternero/Cuesta del Ternero) was still under control, and those in Pichi Mahuida (Lot 9) and Avellaneda (Negro Muerto area) were brought under control.

In the far south of the country, the province of Tierra del Fuego controlled the fire in the area of ​​Carmen Vieja in the department of Tolhuin and contained the fire in the vicinity of Del Láinez and Tolhuin.
