Madrid, March 8. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) celebrates International Women’s Day with a documentary entitled “Women in Motorcycling” produced in collaboration with WebsEdge, the FIM partner Commission for Women in Motorcycling (CFM) with CanAm, BMW Motorrad and MUNER University.

Aimed to raise awareness of women’s motorcycling and inspire the next generation of riders, the documentary features interviews with iconic female competitors in a twenty-two minute film sharing the inspiring stories of FIM World Champions such as Laia Sanz, Iris Kramer and Kiara Fontanesi, as well as with the pioneer Andrea Coleman and the promising Ran Yochay.

“Women in Motorcycling”, a celebration of women’s motorcycling, showcases three key areas of the motorcycle industry, from road to engineering to racing.

“As soon as you put on the helmet, gender doesn’t matter,” said Ran Yochay, a 19-year-old pilot. “What matters is our love for the sport and what matters is how we ride. If you’re good, you’re good, it doesn’t matter if you’re male or female.”

FIM Women in Motorcycling Commission Director Janika Judeika said that “The FIM is committed to making motorcycling an open, inclusive and caring environment for all. Therefore, the Women in Motorcycling Commission is continually looking for ways to showing role models who can inspire more and more women not just to join our sport, but to strive for it, whatever path or discipline they choose.”

“Joining forces with WebsEdge, BMW Motorrad, CanAm and MUNER University has been a great opportunity to get our message out to a wider audience and show girls and women around the world that they are strong, capable, unstoppable and above all, who have the support of an extraordinary community of people,” adds Judeika in the FIM note.

“We are delighted to partner with the FIM to produce a film that explores the challenges and achievements of women in motorcycling. It is an innovative and unique perspective from women in the industry that has made a difference. As a company, we are strongly We are committed to promoting gender equality and breaking down barriers, and we know that the most effective way to achieve this is to share knowledge and experiences through the storytelling,” says Stephen Horn, CEO of WebsEdge.

For his part, Markus Schramm, Director of BMW Motorrad, commented: “Women are an important part of our BMW Motorrad community. We have more and more women taking part in ‘track days’ and it’s fantastic that their interest in actively participating in motoring is also increasing.”

“As BMW Motorrad, we support them with many activities. The FIM’s commitment to supporting women in motorsport is fantastic and it is very important for us to be part of it. Our common goal is to interest even more girls and women in motorcycling and racing and help them on their way to motorsport,” Schramm added to EFE.
