The best-selling car in Argentina continues to be the Fiat Cronos, and it does so almost alone in the name of its brand, compared to Toyota and Volkswagen, which have diversified their sales volume into different models.

After the historic first month of the year and its great contrast in figures with the last of the previous year, February sales figures for automobiles and light and heavy commercial vehiclesrebalances the statistics and gives projections for the coming months.

According to the report published by Acara (Automobile Dealers Association of the Argentine Republic)in February 30,121 units were patented, which is 40.2% less than in January and 3.5% more than in February 2022. It does this with the sum of six models among the 20 bestsellers, with the Hilux pickup at number 1 and the Etios compact at number 2, both in very similar volumes, but it also adds the patenting of Corolla Cross, Yaris, Corolla and SW4.

Fiat is second in terms of total sales with 4,574 vehicles, but almost all are thanks to the excellent performance of Cronos, the best-selling car on the market, of which 4,021 units were patented in the second month of the year. The Toro compact pickup is the only Fiat model to make the top 30 best-selling models with 198 vehicles and the Pulse is third with 112 in February.

Peugeot was again the third manufacturerand although it shares with Fiat being part of the Stellantis Group and added together they would be leaders, for the needs of the purchase of a car, these data should not be very influential for the decision of the consumers. In February, 3,323 units were patented, some 1,100 vehicles less than in January, but allowed him to be third again ahead of Volkswagen and Ford, that they left them in fifth place in January of this year. The merit of Peugeot, like Fiat, is that everything the figures depend on the sales of the 208the second most commercialized model on the current market behind its cousin “Cronos”.

The case of Volkswagen is the most striking. With a good month of January thanks to the pick up Amarok was the third model in the total of all sales for the first month, even beat the “queen” Hilux In the first quarter, the return to standard values allowed it to be the third manufacturer in the two months, but to fall to fourth place in February.
