LAS VEGAS (AP) — The exhibition match between Spanish tennis players Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, which was scheduled to take place Sunday in Las Vegas, has been canceled and there will be refunds for those who purchased tickets.

Organizers announced on Wednesday that the event had been canceled due to Alcaraz’s hamstring injury to his right leg. Due to this injury, he was unable to participate in the Mexican Tennis Open, which takes place in the Mexican port of Acapulco.

Nadal had previously been taken off the card due to a hip problem which has sidelined him since the Australian Open in January. The Spaniard announced on Tuesday that he will not participate in the Masters 1000 tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami.

The 36-year-old Spanish veteran holds the record for Grand Slam titles, with 22. Alcaraz, 19, won his first major trophy at the US Open in September last year.

The two Spaniards finished 1 and 2 in the ATP rankings last season.
