QUITO (AP) — Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso has tested positive for COVID for the second time and is in good health, the presidency’s press secretary reported Saturday.

The 67-year-old president, who had his first infection in June last year, will remain isolated for four days, following the recommendation of doctors, and will attend office activities electronically, he added.

After taking office in May 2021, Lasso led an extensive vaccination program against the disease in which just over nine million people were vaccinated in his first 100 days in office.
