Andrea María Rosa Dury Ospina is a singer from Cali known as Drea Durywho began to become known thanks to his participation in ‘The French Voice‘ (2018), a competition in which he was a finalist, which opened the doors to his career.

This is what she herself commented in an interview with GlobeLiveMedia colombiain which she removed the doubt that those who listen to her story usually ask: how does a Colombian come to shine in a reality show in this country?

It turns out that Valle del Cauca grew up in an artistic environment, since since she was a child she accompanied her father, an orchestra director, backstage. Reason why in 2014 he moved to Brussels (Belgium) to study visual arts at school The Camber.

“When this opportunity came to me, I didn’t want to miss it and the result was amazing. At that time, I didn’t think people would like it so much and even when I watch the blind audition again today, I realize that my perception of everything at that time was very different.” he explained.

Thanks to the boost that ‘La Voz Francia’ gave Drea Dury, but above all thanks to her discipline, she achieved another of the great successes of her career: collaborating with the American rapper Williamgroup member Black Eyed Peasin the song ‘Brutal’ which has nearly 30 million views on YouTube.

“The truth was a very great happiness and, at the same time, I felt small. I thought that only happened to very famous people because, for example, four months before this premiere, the one who collaborated with him was J Balvin. It’s the magic of music and perseverance, I don’t believe in the last Coca-Cola in the desert, but I believe in myself a lot (…) I make songs that come from my heart and Will.i .am loved it, it was a very nice connection and we understood each other a lot. I say that music can achieve things that money cannot buy,” he added during his interview with GlobeLiveMedia.

In 2021, he released his first album, titled ‘sunset‘, which consisted of 12 songs, being ‘Slow’ and ‘I want to see you’ some of his most successful songs on digital platforms.

A year later he comes out ‘Tellem‘, a single synchronized with the film ‘Blanquita’, awarded as best screenplay at this year’s Venice Film Festival and a Chilean candidate for the selection of the best foreign film at the Oscars.

After releasing her first album in 2023, Drea Dury decided to embark on a new project that mixes the sounds, rhythms and instruments of Latin music (with which she grew up), American and European pop and R&B ( in which she bathed when she moved to the old continent), and Afrobeat (a genre to which she feels very attracted).

“I think my style of music is as varied as my personality and my life story, it’s a journey of all my experiences inside and outside the country. It has colors from here and tones by the way”, he added in his interview with GlobeLiveMedia.

As part of this unprecedented and original proposal, the Californian launched ‘Lick’, whose video clip presents an impressive choreography of several minutes, for which she worked with Nicolas Houchardchoreographer of Madonna. The choice of a decor and a unique style for the clip allows the Colombian to express herself authentically through a moment of liberating dance.

“I did the remix of ‘Lick’ with a Moroccan artist called ‘ElGrandeToto’ because he liked it very much; I don’t know what’s going on, I’m going to have to send a song to Rihanna to see if she joins me too”, he said with a laugh before adding: “this is one of the greatest of the Arab zone and we met when I was in Europe, at a festival, and when he heard the song, he told me he was interested in doing a cover and it came out a few days ago.”
