The Disney amusement parks in Orlando (Florida, U.S) will stop requiring masks from people who are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 Starting next February 17. The company updated its website on Tuesday, where it indicates that as of Thursday the masks will be optional, both indoors and outdoors, for those over 2 years of age who have their complete vaccination schedule.

“We expect visitors who are not fully vaccinated to continue to wear face coverings at all indoor venues, including attractions and theaters,” points out Disney in the web.

This change will not apply to the closed transport of Disney including buses, monorails and the Disney Skyliner gondola, where guests will still be required to wear masks.

This novelty only applies for now to the parks Disney of Orlando, while remaining at its facilities in California, where face coverings will continue to be required indoors, including many attractions and enclosed transportation vehicles, regardless of vaccination status.

With this decision, Disney follows the example of the Universal parks in Orlando, which this past Saturday eased the requirements for visitors who have the complete vaccination schedule against the COVID-19.

Universal had previously allowed not to wear a face mask, but two months ago it had to recover the measure due to the increase in cases of COVID-19 due to the omicron variant.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the positive rate in the state has fallen by half in recent weeks and, according to the latest data, is 14.9%, when at the beginning of last January it exceeded the 30%, in a trend similar to that registered in the rest of the country.
