On Wednesday, March 8, for International Women’s Day, the President of the Republic, In Bolaure, issued a message of greeting to Peruvian businesswomen, professionals, and peasants, and also denounced the cases of gender violence of which they are victims.

“Andean women seek to develop their commercial and professional activities and contribute to the development of our country,” she said in a message recorded at the Government Palace.

“Today, I have the great honor of being the first woman president of the Republic,” she said at another time.

Furthermore, she expressed her disavowal against feminicides and the 31 women who have been murdered in just two months of the year and promised to “work for a culture that banishes male chauvinism.”

A day earlier, the President expressed confidence that the country will overcome any crisis, so the government will continue to act within the framework of legality and in defense of democratic institutions.
