A serious complaint has been filed by journalist Alejandro Pino Calad regarding certain administrative procedures at Deportivo Cali. As the journalist reports, current members and others already retired from the board of directors allegedly inflated the price of land located opposite the stadium of the complex verdiblanco in order to build up a heritage. Given this, two complaints would remain in the office of the Prosecutor 67 of Santiago de Cali for: fraud and corruption between individuals.

The situation was exposed in the first program of the fourth season of La Titular, broadcast by RedMás TV. Pino Calad assured that the inflation of the property was up to 38 times its original value. In addition, he said he is waiting to confirm certain information before filing a formal complaint:

“There are very dark things with the current administration and with the previous administration. There are complaints, there are accusations and there is a very serious, but very serious problem which has to do with a lot of things that are in front of the Deportivo Cali stadium. This lot turns out to be valued and its price increased by 38 times, with this the equity of Cali increases, they inflate it and it is a cause of fraud (…) I cannot press charges formally at this time, because I corroborate all the information I have, but what has come to me, by God”

On the other hand, German Arango referred to the poor management of some boards of directors after the sale of players and recalled the case of clubs such as Atlético Bucaramanga and Cúcuta Deportivo, which, due to administrative irregularities, ended up playing in the second division of Colombian football. . For the journalist, devaluing a club and reselling it later could be a form of business.

“It is that the complaint that there is before the Parquet 67 of Cali is for two offenses, for fraud and also for corruption for the management of the money in the sale of certain players. From now on, putting a team out of business is also a business. We have an expert in there, who went through three teams and sent two to B (…) So the business is, I devalue it, I send them into bankruptcy and then I resell it. Now Cali, the only club that has members in this country that has its own stadium”

GlobeLiveMedia Colombia spoke to the president of Deportivo Cali about the complaint filed by Alejandro Pino Calad in La Titular, to which he assured that he felt calm about his management in the presidency and reflected on the “motto” used by the current executive committee:

“I think that at silly words, deaf ears, the truth will have to come out, I am very calm, since the only thing I know, calmly, is that I have worked very hard, with transparency, honesty, much dedication, and with love For the institution that I love so much, if they think that I will worry about false accusations, they are very wrong.

I am a man of honor, respect, and the only vice I have learned, and very good, is to work hard, with a lot of love to achieve good goals, I always try to build more , never to destroy, and the whole team of this committee works on the same motto.

HONESTY, CLARITY, TRANSPARENCY AND A LOT OF RESPECT.

What can I tell you, officer, that you don’t have a clue about these 4 bases of our committee?”

Recall that in 2018, under the presidency of Álvaro Martínez, it had already ruled on the inflation of the commercial value of land adjoining the Deportivo Cali stadium. The then-president said the land was acquired after an agreement with the office of the mayor of Palmira and the office of the governor of Valle to solve the problem of the entry and exit of vehicles.

Regarding the value, he clarified that it was all due to confusion and that the valuation by the Lonja was close to 8,000 million, however, the person responsible for making the valuation subtracted the 6,000 million that it cost to fit it, for which they assumed the value was 1,800 million, but that was not the case.

“Today it is under fiduciary mandate, it has not yet been transferred to Deportivo Cali. Inacar, owner of this land and other land near the stadium, wants to carry out an urban development in this area. We have concluded an agreement and Cali is going to help. That’s why we’ve paid this trust, so far, $6,250 million. The agreement that we have reached is that if they do this project, which is welcomed by the mayor of Palmira and the governor, we have a $3 billion bonus. If this idea is given, Cali would only pay $3 billion,” Martínez told El País de Cali newspaper in 2018.
