Deportivo Cali He started the tournament stealthily and cautiously, because despite being undefeated, he still didn’t win. However, beyond football, there is a problem which again worries and which is directly linked to the economy. Several employees of the establishment have established a right of petition with the board of directors, asking for the immediate payment of the late payments, which have not been canceled since the 2022.

The team president, Luis Fernando Mena talked about the situation and confirmed what was revealed by the workers; However, he clarified that in the next few days he will catch up on said payments, since the delay is due to the fact that part of the money did not reach the coffers of the verdiblancas.

“I’m not going to deny the reality, unfortunately money from some deals didn’t come to us on Thursday or Friday, I hope to resolve it soon, I told everyone in the office to be patient, here we are, we are moving slowly,” Mena explained in a dialogue with the great combo from RCN Radio.

The right of petition of certain employees is centered on the request for payment of a debt which is approximately at least two wages, which include the months of December 2022 and January 2023. They assure that although they raised their voices several days ago, they still have not received an official response from management.

“We are writing to you with the aim of requesting the payment of wages corresponding to the days worked in the period of December 2022 and January 2023which we have constantly asked for and we have had no response on the rights we have as workers,” they point out in the letter.

The allocations caused by this debt have had a great impact on what has to do with the stability of workers and the guarantee of their subsistence minimum, since the stock of money is not only linked to wages, but also, with everything related to their social benefits.

“The employment contracts we have with the company are constantly broken in terms of social contributions, pension funds, salary and contributions, the company has assigned us the minimum subsistence, dignity and work, because this work is our only source of income, both for each of us and for our family units, which is why it causes us irreparable harm”.

The impact does not only directly affect the workers, since their family circle has been directly compromised, considering that many households of these employees depend solely on the wages they earn.

“This situation has affected us too much, because at this time we do not have the resources to meet our basic weights in food, education, clothing, health, transport and recreation. In addition, we have debts with banks, drip loans, unpaid utilities and other debtors that affect us more and more.

This situation has forced workers to resort to seeking loans from banks and informal methods, however, the debts are increasing as they have not received retroactive payments either. Beforehand, a food aid and support in a transportation service going from home to work and vice versa, because they allege that the respect of the schedule is demanded, although it is not respected in the payments.

“Therefore, we request the payment of said periods, since we do not have the resources to mobilize ourselves to work, and each time we see ourselves more indebted by requesting external loans that increase our indebtedness without receiving retroactivity from of the company or any Solution that will help the worker,” the letter reads.
