ESETa company responsible for detecting online threats, warned that in the dark canvas figures of over two million have been leaked credit card there debit from different countries, mainly UNITED STATES, Mexico there China.

As indicated on the site BidenCashdedicated to selling stolen card data, a year has passed since its inception and to celebrate it has released a free database with 2,165,700 cards.

The data includes the card number, the expiry date, which goes up to 2052, the security code, as well as personal information (name, postal address, telephone number and address of the owner).

In this data leak, the most affected country was the United States, with a total of 965,000 records. In second place is Mexico, with a total of 97,663, followed by China with 97,003.

Andrea Draghetti, Head of Threat Intelligence at D3labIT, informed beeping computer that although after analysis of the database, it was observed that many data were duplicates, more than two million were unique.

Likewise, from the security company they indicate that a total of 497,000 unique email addresses are known, which can also be used by cybercriminals in modalities such as Phishing or to perform other types of identity theft fraud.

The researchers were unable to confirm the validity of the leaked data. However, this does not mean that banks or customers can reject them, as other information that could be used by cybercriminals has also been leaked.

BidenCash is an active site since February 28, 2022 and has already used database leaks on other occasions as a strategy to promote its services. In October, he did the same with a database containing more than 1.2 million credit cards.

“Data leaks are increasingly common, and while there are laws such as GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulation, it is important that we as users know how to take care and protect our personal data,” said Camilo Gutiérrez Amaya, Director of ESET Latin America Research Lab.

The recommendations shared by the expert are as follows: do not enter personal data on sites that are not considered secure, as well as keep systems up to date and have a security solution installed on devices.
