Cuzco became the scene of a new suspected case of femicide involving a Peruvian National Police (PNP) lieutenant and a 26-year-old girl. Early research suggests that Sandro Obregon Peraltawho would be the brother of the former deputy Nancy Obregón Peralta, would have shot his sentimental partner Sandra Carrasco Pereira. Then, he would have tried to end his life, using the same regulatory weapon.

The police officers were traveling in an all-terrain vehicle through the Coca Valley, where the armed forces have been battling drug gangs and the remnants of the Sendero Luminoso for more than two decades.
The fateful event happened on the night of Wednesday, February 15, barely a day after the celebration of the Day of Love, on the third floor of a house located in the neighborhood known as ‘La Granja ‘, located in the town of quillabamba – The Convention, in the region Cuzco.
